An easy walk to a ruined shepherd's hut

The shepherds' huts path starts at the stone quarry junction in Porto and climbs along the hillside above the gulf. Allow about two hours there and back for 4.2 km and 234 m of cumulative ascent — an easy hike, within reach of most walkers.

The path passes the ruins of an old dry-stone shepherd's hut, from where the view drops away over the harbour of Porto and its Genoese tower. A good compromise for a short outing, without the technical difficulties of Capo d'Orto or Capo Rosso.

Good to know: the outing can be turned into a one-way crossing towards the Serriera calanques, if someone can pick the walker up at the far end.
